The ADSO XREF Utility has been designed to provide you with all the where used information which is essential to any ADS-ONLINE project. Whether you are modifying a purchased package or enhancing home grown applications, the AXU is the one research tool you cannot do without.

Dialog/Application Cross Reference

For a specified dialog, dialog list, dialog mask, or ADS application, the AXU lists all references to any of the following:

For each reference, the AXU lists the process name and version, text sequence number, and the process command (verb) which is used.

Record descriptions and module source may optionally be listed, in which case the AXU additionally references the report page/line where the source appears.

Data Element Cross Reference

For each specified data element, the AXU lists all entities that use the element or any synonym.

For dialogs and maps, the AXU indicates if a synonym, owning group, or subordinate element is actually referenced (or if it merely exists in a copied record).

For processes, the AXU lists the text sequence number where the synonym, owning group, or subordinate element is referenced.

DIME Cross Reference

The AXU details, for an entire IDD, the use of those entity types for which there are no physical set relationships in the dictionary.

For each entity, the AXU lists the calling module(s) and/or map(s), as well as the calling dialog(s).
